1. Creative Arts festivals/events.

Read your local newspaper for listings of such events. Otherwise, ask at places where Creative types gather.

2. Workshops and Seminars.

There are countless opportunities to take all sorts of Workshops and Seminars through professional education companies, local religious organizations, bookstores, and college community or outreach departments.

3. Host a Party.

Throw parties with an eclectic blend of people/attend parties with an eclectic blend of people. As you become a host or hostess with regularity, you will receive return invitations. Be sure to always invite one or two different people from different circles so you can widen everyone's reach.

4. Yoga and other exercise classes.

Exercising the physical body is a great way to deepen your lessons in personal growth. Befriending the people you meet at classes will inspire you all to continue to grow in each area of the Mind, Body and Spirit.

5. Poetry Readings.

Great fun for the writers and non writers among us, poetry readings invite you to explore your own heart in a deeper more profound way. If you are especially brave, sign up to read your work or the work of a poet you admire. Chat with the other poets about their work.

6. Political Events

Political events focused on a Proposition or Candidate you can wholeheartedly endorse. People who spend their time, effort and energy in these areas are usually very passionate as well as outgoing and welcoming.

7. Spiritual Events.

Perhaps you are interested in exploring another belief system or your own with more depth. A good place to start exploring is in the phone book or in the local newspaper's religion section.

8. Volunteer Work.

Do volunteer work for an organization which is supporting something of special interest to you. There are literally groups for everything, be it gardening or grieving or fighting drug use or raising awareness of a particular illness. Simply look around a try one or two or three until you find a match.

9. Live Theatre Productions.

Live theatre productions, especially opening events. Often times on opening nights, theatre companies will hold special events to celebrate. Strike up a conversation with a couple people you do not know.

10. Hobbies.

Working in an environment that is in alignment with your calling. And if this was reality, imagine the low rate of dissatisfaction in the world! Never stop working towards creating this in your life. It is absolutely possible to find or create the perfect fit. Simply stay alert and focused and follow your intuition.
