Baby Proofing
By Monica Resinger

Baby proofing isn't for everyone. Some people believe that the baby should be taught right away that some things are not supposed to be touched. On the other hand, there are those of us who would like a little piece of mind and a little relaxation. If your home is baby proofed, you won't have to get up and down as much. Whatever your preferred method may be, always keep a watchful eye on baby.

For those of you with small babies, and are interested in baby proofing your home, here are some baby proofing ideas:
~Put breakables up on high shelves or store them away for displaying later.
~Put poisons and small items that could choke the baby on a high shelf.
~Cover all unused electrical outlets with covers that are specially made for them--you can find them at any hardware store.
~Put baby proof locks on drawers and cabinet doors. These are available at most hardware stores.
~Don't use tablecloths. Most babies want to pull at them which could turn into a disaster.
~If you own a cat and it has a litter box, be sure to keep that in a place where the baby can't get to it.
~Keep doors closed to other rooms in the house.
