People say that they can't figure women out, but men are strange sometimes too. A perfect example is a recent poll that we ran on our website (Lingerie Monthly). We simply asked men what type of lingerie they preferred to see their lady partner wear. We thought this would be good information to know for a woman to in order to select lingerie preferable to her man and we figured men would want to see how their tastes would stack up to their peers. The choices given were: classic (pretty, simple styles), naughty (sexy, risque little numbers) or fantasy (daring, role playing garments). Seventy percent of our site's visitors said they preferred the "naughty but nice" styles. Twenty percent said they preferred the "fantasy" lingerie for their women and only ten percent preferred the "classic" lingerie. So according to this poll, men have very sexy and daring tastes.

However, a slighty different story seems to unfold when looking at our sales on our website OR the men are not following through with desires when making actual purchases. Our sales indicated that only fifty percent of men preferred "naughty" lingerie when purchasing for their women. A nearly equal forty nine percent of men purchased "classic" lingerie and a mere one percent took the daring step towards "fantasy" lingerie. So you can understand we were quite surprised at the poll results.

We interviewed John Thorpe, a client from Coral Springs, Florida and he stated that "Most men want to think of themselves as these macho sexual beings with such daring tastes and no inhibitions. But when it comes down to it...to living in the real world, when we go to actually buy the stuff, you chicken out and go for the pretty stuff, the Victoria's Secret safe, lacey stuff. Plus, you are a little afraid of what she might think if you get too bold." John's statement seems to say it all. At least it backed up our findings. Now mind you, this was not a scientific perfectly controlled poll, however we think if you did do a true gallop poll, our results would still hold water.

So these findings must explain why Victoria's Secret is so successful. They focus on the safe, calssic styles that the public seems to be comfortable with. However a store or website that would cater to men's deep hidden desires could do well in trying to appeal to that side of men. Those desires just need to be strengthened and given confidence. The confidence to follow through in what they feel. Men certainly, should not feel intimidated by their wives and girlfriends. Infact, as a women, I can say that they probably would welcome the change. In fact, they would most likely embrace it! Many women have fantasies of such a romance blooming to allow a bit of naughtiness and fantasy. So go ahead gentlemen, take the plunge and go with your romantic desires.
