Frugal Family Fun
By Debra Vaughn
These days, getting the whole family together is hard enough, let alone getting the family to have fun together.
You've seen the commercials on television about family fun night I am sure. Well, guess what. It really works! Call in for pizza and get out a board game or the cards. Sit down, eat pizza, play games and talk. Half the fun of family fun night is the conversation. Be sure not to judge the person that is talking. This is supposed to be FUN not traumatizing.
Try getting a roll of quarters and go to the arcade with the family. Split the roll up between the family and have fun! Try to play as many games as you can that require at least 2 players. The whole point of family fun night is to do it together!
For those people who have teens and older children that you see on their way to the bus and again on the way to bed. Try sending them an invitation to a family reunion! Yes it will be just you, your spouse and your children, but it maybe just the thing to let them know that you would like to see them a little more often. Make your banners, invitations, food etc., just as you would for a real reunion. It will be more fun that you thought it could be.
